about me
My name is Chris. I’m a writer, 30, and live near London.
I write poems, children’s stories and scripts – and hopefully the ball I’ve set rolling on all of this will gather momentum in the next few months and lead to something good happening. For now, here are a few little bits about me.
My favourite music: Just about anything, but especially Paul Simon, Dar Williams, Kate Rusby. And the Beatles.
My favourite book is The Thirty-Nine Steps by John Buchan. Closely followed by Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer and Harry and The Bucketful of Dinosaurs by Ian Whybrow.
One of my most treasured items is an old, pilfered copy of the collected plays of Joe Orton. I did not do the pilfering, I should mention. But I’m not going to say who did. It’s a very special thing though.
I love: my son Luke, Morecambe and Wise, lighthouses, cricket, Roger McGough, Cornwall, Doctor Who, thinking out loud, Stewart Lee, beaches, rain after a hot day, Time Team, Tintin, Dara O’Briain, watching rain falling through an open window.
I do not love: Mushroom soup, hayfever, mobile phones that play music on loudspeaker, text speak in any other situation than a text message (you have a whole keyboard and no character limit for a reason!).
Nice site. Can’t stand Harry Hill, though one of my claims to fame was acting as compare for a gig he did in his early days at Aston Uni – he was great -sadly the drunk students disagreed via thrown beer bottles.
